W. E. Tate Home

Add to plan Remove from plan

(c. 1897)
Merchant W. E. Tate and his family were the original occupants of this stately 5,500 square foot Queen Anne style home. The house exhibits a wrap-around gingerbread porch, a two-story tower, an upstairs ballroom with a twenty-foot high ceiling, ten-foot tall sliding pocket doors, Tudor-style wainscoting, ornate interior fretwork and an original windmill well-house. The home is painted as a “Victorian Painted Lady” using twelve historically correct colors.
