(1921) Weatherford lacked a first-rate, modern hotel until 1921 when the Hotel Parker was built. The fourstory “fireproof” brick structure offered hot and cold running water in each of its “guaranteed sanitary” rooms. In the late 1940s, the city’s first radio station, KORC, and the Greyhound Bus ticket office were located in the hotel. The Hotel Parker closed its doors on January 1, 1963. The site was purchased as the new location for First National Bank.
