Alex Rawlins Home

Add to plan Remove from plan

(c. 1880)
Alex Rawlins built a two-room house with a lean-to kitchen on this site for his new bride, Annie. The home was remodeled to its present style in 1922. A low, flat roof, elongated windows and deep, overhanging second-story eaves with brackets exhibit Art Deco influences. Rawlins, an English born stonecutter, opened the Weatherford Marble Works in 1887. The business, still family owned and operated, is called Rawlins and Sons Monument Company
